They are hand crafted in a mold with PVC plastic. The hose has a 2 1/2 inch diameter to allow maximum air flow from the vents to your rear brakes. The vent was created using new technology, with CAD drawing and 3D printing. It has been through years of R&D to make these vents fit and work properly. We like to think this is possibly what Ford would have done if they decided to make these for all the cars.
Installing these vents is easy, it will take a couple of days because of the need to wait for JB Weld to dry overnight. If you are mechanically inclined then you will have no problem upgrading your 69 Mach 1 or BOSS 429 quarter vents to these functional vents.
These vents can be used to cool your rear brakes or your rear axle. Today so many classic Mustang owners are upgrading their brakes from drum brakes to disk brakes. The best result is to upgrade to 4-wheel power disk brake systems (but this system could still help cool rear drum brakes if you find a creative way to direct the hose). Every upgrade you make to your classic Mustang is an improvement, especially to the brake system. When you need to stop, you need to be confident that your brakes will work and won’t have brake fade.
